Volkswagen Golf R Ultimate Fan Experience Sweepstakes
Volkswagen has just added the a new variant to its lineup in the U.S., and its coming in making a splash.
The new 2012 Golf R has been released alongside the “Golf R Ultimate Fan Experience” contest, with the winner being awarded an all-expenses paid trip to Germany to experience the Golf R on the Nurburgring.
In addition, the seven-day, six-night trip for two includes a visit to Volkswagen AG headquarters in Wolfsburg, professional driving instruction at the Nurburgring, and a stop in Berlin, all with luxury hotel stays for each destination.
“The Golf R has an incredibly loyal following of fans, and this is a way for Volkswagen to say ‘thank you’ for their passion and enthusiasm,” said Jonathan Browning, President and CEO, Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. “We are delighted to reward one lucky Golf R fan with the ultimate enthusiast travel experience, including an adrenaline-pumping driving experience on a legendary track.”
Entrants must be 25 years old or older at time of entry, and the contest begun on April 12, and will continue through May 14, 2012. The one, very lucky winner will be chosen by random drawing “on or about May 28, 2012.”

Auburn Volkswagen is proud t announce a partnership with Kidco to present school assemblies that address harassment, intimidation and bullying for both students and parents.
The Kidco Productions School Assembly Program transforms local area schools into a constructive and empowered learning environment. With a high energy mix of puppets, theatrical story telling, audience participation, special guest and encouraging messages; their assemblies aim to transform schools by transforming the way children view themselves through a variety of character building, goal-setting and problem solving activities.
Every child, regardless of their race, religion, ancestry, national origin, gender, gender identity, mental or physical disability, physical appearance, clothing, socioeconomic or any other characteristic, deserves to be safe, cared for and appreciated. KidCo. Productions present school assemblies that will address harassment, intimidation and bullying in an informative and entertaining way for students, teachers and parents alike. Different types of bullying will be identified and discussed. Students will learn techniques to help themselves and others when being bullied. They will also learn that working together, communication with an adult, and being an active bystander will create a safer environment.
Even the youngest of students face a diverse number of obstacles at school and home. Kidco Productions knows that children with a healthy disposition will make a helpful contribution to their environment. An important concept for students of all ages is how to build positive character traits that will last them their entire lifetime i.e. kindness, compassion, confidence and self control.

SPIED: Volkswagen’s Next-Gen MKVII Golf, Lighter, Faster & MORE Tech
With stiffer competition closing in on Volkswagen from all sides, it’s clear that the storied German marque has to do something to keep up.To do so, VW has a raft of changes coming to the next-generation Golf. Primarily VW will focus on three areas: weight reduction, more power and a better transmission, and new technology. These new additions will culminate in a product that is lighter, faster and more fuel efficient. And, according to our sources, the Golf will feature a plug-in hybrid and a fully electric version.
All of this certainly sounds impressive but the real question is: Will VW de-content the next-gen Golf like the current Jetta? Here’s the funny thing though. While a significant majority of the media has panned the Jetta, it’s been selling extremely well. I am betting the next-gen Golf will follow the Jetta’s footsteps in that it will get larger and a cheaper price. The seventh-generation VW Golf will be lighter, safer and better to drive than ever. And as these latest spy shots show it’s deep into development ahead of its world debut at the Paris Motor Show in October. A plug-in hybrid and a fully electric model have also been confirmed, while a GTI and range topping 300bhp four-wheel drive R model will complete the line up. Buyers will be given the choice of six-speed manual and seven-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearboxes, as in the current Golf.

2013 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible Revealed in Autoguide.com Spy Photos
This just in from Autoguide.com. The latest generation of the classic Volkswagen Beetle has been well received in its newest form, and will continue to get attention from VW to expand its customer base. Coming next for the new Beetle will be a soft top convertible option, which our photographers recently grabbed some spy photos of.
The Beetle convertible will likely be available with both of the powertrain options offered on standard Beetle, a 2.5L five-cylinder with a six-speed automatic, or a 2.0L TSI turbocharged four-cylinder with a DSG six-speed dual-clutch automatic. The larger 2.5L motor makes 170-hp and 177 lb-ft of torque, while the smaller displacement turbo variant puts out 200-hp and 207 lb-ft of torque.
The Beetle TDI debuted at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show, and we are hopeful that the 2.0L diesel engine will find its way into the convertible, but it doesn’t seem likely.
